Google Reader Now Supports HTML5

Google announced today several updates for the Google Reader including support for HTML5 powered audio and video.

Since Apple’s attack on Adobe, there has been growing support for HTML5. Websites are increasingly switching to HTML5 for both desktop and mobile. They have also added a new link that appears at the bottom of recommended items.  The link “Not Interested” allows the user to hide items that are of no interest to them.  This will allow Google to provide customized results.   Though Google still supports Flash, HTML5 is becoming the new alternative to Flash.  It will soon command more of the internet web market as websites began to adopt HTML5 as their standard and will probably change the way we optimize for search engines.
