The next e-commerce platform will combine video and shopping like never before

The future of online shopping and browsing is quickly changing for the better. Before long e-commerce will be old news while video commerce will be the wave of the future. You can see a live demonstration of the product Liveclicker has put together here. Since this is a new platform that Liveclicker has just made, it is not going to be ready for mass public consumption for a while, but in the mean time, you have to admit that this is neat.

The concept is simple and at first glance has the same features and feel of a YouTube video. This is a plus because they thought of the user not having to relearn a new system, nor did they make it complicated. The video plays and at the end displays images with small descriptions  for the user to click on. The images are displayed as if they are links for the user to click to watch another video.  On a mouse hover, a brief description of the product is displayed.  When you click on it, it displays the price of the item and has a green buy button on it. When you click on either the hyperlink or the buy button you are sent to the products webpage for more information and to purchase the item.

I think that it’s a neat idea, but it’s not surprising either with the boom social media platforms like facebook and twitter taking over the way we think and act in our daily lives. It makes it so the user does not have to create a new tab to search for the item they want to purchase if they were watching a video at the time. Everything is there to make the user not think about anything.

I would assume that after a while it will have an option to place an item on hold at store and in the near future we will soon be able to make reservations for concerts,  restaurants and many other options too.

Now if only we can have TV’s that allow you to order your food using a remote and you can pull it out of said TV a couple seconds later. Then that would definitely be impressive.
