Videos are a connection between you and your clients.

Video is just another way for your potential clients to get to know you a little better as a person. A lot of times, I have read articles online or watched videos were a lot of people have expressed their fears or have had strong reservations about video, because they worried about messing up or not looking good on video. More often than not, we truly are our own worst critic  Instead of thinking on the negative, we should think of the video creation process as an extended conversation with someone who you’re looking forward to meeting in the future.

Put your best foot forward and be yourself.

A lot of times we’re so hung up on wanting to put our best foot forward that we end up not being ourselves at all! We over think things and look at being ourselves and putting our best foot forward as two separate tasks when they really don’t have to be. The fear is not in sitting in front of the camera, but in not knowing what a potential client is expecting from you. The best advice I can give you is when in doubt be yourself!

Potential clients are more interested in you on a personal level, not a gimmick.

When people look at videos they are looking for authenticity, honest people who are honestly interested in answering their questions. These are real people who may be in trouble and need real answers from someone they can relate to. So don’t worry about forcing yourself to act as someone else. Your expectations and the web audience’s expectations may never match up. A client may not even know what they need, all they know is that they need help and you maybe the one to provide them with that help. So make the most authentic video you can by doing the following things:

• Appear in the video as you would if you were talking to a potential client immediately across from you
• Talk like you normally would talk
• Be honest and have fun

If you be yourself then over time, your videos will bring in the kind of clients you are looking for that will help to grow stronger relationships and build your business!
