Remember the User: Connecting With Your Audience

What is User Experience?

What is the User Experience you are providing your clients and how does this affect your business?  User Experience (UX) is everything relating to how a customer or client “experiences” your website or application. By “experiences” I mean, is it easy to use?  What emotions or feelings are you trying to convey and are you doing so successfully?  What is the main reason you want people to use your website or application and are you achieving those goals?  These are all questions you should be asking yourself when thinking about the ideal UX you want to provide.

Discover Your Ideal Audience

When thinking about your UX in terms of design and development, you need to pinpoint your target audience.  Is your target audience 30-50 year olds looking for childcare or are they 15-25 year olds looking for a job?  The target audience in question depends on a large number of factors including what industry you are in and what unique services you seek to provide.  Once you have identified your target audience it becomes much easier to start the design process.

Providing the Best User Experience

At the heart of your business must be an idea of how you envision your ideal clients interacting with your brand.  Your brand includes anything that represents your company including websites, logos, etc. Realize that every user is looking for a positive experience and the best thing you do for your business is provide it for them.  This is the key that will give you an edge over your competition and help you form a more personal relationship with your audience.
