Beware of fraudulent pay-per-click services!

A few services, from both small and big companies, have been accused lately of fraudulent practices when selling PPC (pay-per-click) advertising services. Some have complained that they were completely unaware that the services they were signing up for were indeed PPC. Others have complained that, although their click quota had been filled by the company, they hadn’t seen any increase in business.

After some detective work, and tracking numbers, they realized that the sites their clicks were coming from were completely unrelated to the ads they were posting, and as such the people who were clicking on the ads probably were never interested in them in the first place.

For some pay-per-click advertising can be effective, but for many it can become an expensive gamble. While it’s always an option, remember that your best solution for web advertising is always going to be getting into Google’s organic search through comprehensive SEO planning, and creating an authentic web presence.
