3 WAYS TO AVOID FACEBOOK/EMAIL SCAMS:

Please notice first of all they are asking you to download something.  Facebook would never ask you to do that.  NEVER download something unless you are expecting it (pictures from you vacation etc.

The email address is NOT from facebook.com.  NEVER trust something that is not from the actually website. facebookmail.com, facebook.mail.com etc are all bad addresses.  The website should EXACTLY match the email address.

The file ends in .exe.  .exe files means that they are going to run a program on your computer.  Even if someone you know sends an .exe to you from their exact address, call them to confirm before even opening the email.

Facebook Scams are becoming more prevalent

Do not automatically trust facebook or even your friends on facebook .  Even the most computer savvy people I know have been hacked.  Do not feel bad for ignoring a strange link or a strange message.

If you think something might be a scam, it most likely is.  Be careful and you can save a lot of time, money and frustration.
